Belmont Q5500 vs. Q3300 vs. B50N
Three excellent Belmont dental chairs. Three different approaches to features, positioning and price.
Belmont has a long reputation for building durable dental chairs, but choosing between the Q5500, Q3300 and B50N isn't simply a matter of good, better and best. Each offers a different balance of features and cost.
Belmont Q5500
The Q5500 is Belmont's premium option. It features a 440 lb. patient capacity, synchronous recline, 130° swing-out armrests, integrated armrest positioning controls and Belmont's Premium Shockless Hydraulic System.
From our service experience, reliability has been exceptional. In roughly 20 years of selling Q5500 chairs, our technicians recall only about three repairs on the chairs we've sold.
Best for: Practices that want premium positioning, integrated controls and a chair with an excellent long-term track record.
Belmont Q3300
The newer Q3300 provides much of the positioning and sleek appearance of the Q5500 at a lower price point. It has the same 440 lb. capacity, synchronous recline and 130° swing-out armrests, but uses Belmont's standard hydraulic system rather than the Q5500's Premium Shockless system.
One important difference is controls. The Q3300 does not have the Q5500's integrated armrest positioning controls, and the foot control is optional. Your configuration needs either a foot control or chair controls integrated into the delivery system.
Armrest upholstery also varies by configuration. If padded armrests matter to you, make sure they're included in the configuration you select.
Best for: Practices that want Q5500-style positioning and design while keeping the purchase price lower.
Belmont B50N
The B50N is Belmont's straightforward value option. It uses the same standard hydraulic system as the Q3300 and includes programmable positions and a standard foot control. Its patient capacity is 300 lbs., and it does not have the synchronous recline of the Q3300 and Q5500.
It's a simpler chair, but that simplicity can be exactly what an office needs.
Best for: Practices looking for a dependable Belmont chair without paying for features they don't need.
Which Belmont Chair Should You Choose?
Choose the Q5500 for premium hydraulics, integrated controls and a proven long-term track record.
Choose the Q3300 for much of the Q5500's positioning and appearance at a more economical price.
Choose the B50N when simplicity, reliability and value are the priorities.
There really isn't a loser here. The right choice depends on your budget, operatory configuration and which features your team will actually use.
The Q3300 is still relatively new compared with the Q5500, so we don't yet have the same decades of field experience with it. Time will tell whether it develops the same exceptional repair history we've seen from the Q5500.
