Welcome to North Star Dental Services. These Terms & Conditions apply to purchases made through our online store and use of this website.
By placing an order through our website, you agree to these Terms & Conditions and any additional terms stated on the applicable product page, quote, purchase agreement, or other documentation associated with your order.
If you have questions about a product before ordering, please contact us. Dental equipment is not always one-size-fits-all, and we are happy to help you confirm that a product is appropriate for your practice before you purchase.
1. Product Information
North Star Dental Services makes reasonable efforts to provide accurate product descriptions, specifications, photographs, pricing, compatibility information, availability, and other product information.
Manufacturer specifications, packaging, features, model numbers, availability, and other information may change without notice. Manufacturer images may be used for new products and may not represent every available configuration or option.
For pre-owned and refurbished equipment, photographs and descriptions are intended to accurately represent the item's condition. When multiple substantially similar pre-owned or refurbished items are available, photographs may be representative rather than photographs of the exact item shipped. This will be disclosed on the applicable product page when relevant.
North Star Dental Services reserves the right to correct typographical errors, inaccurate information, pricing errors, or omissions.
2. Orders & Order Acceptance
Submitting an order through our website does not necessarily constitute final acceptance of the order.
North Star Dental Services reserves the right to verify product availability, pricing, compatibility, shipping requirements, payment information, or other order details before accepting or fulfilling an order.
If we are unable to fulfill an order, we may cancel the affected portion of the order and issue an appropriate refund.
We may also contact you before processing an order if additional information is necessary.
3. Pricing & Payment
Prices displayed on the website are in U.S. dollars unless otherwise stated.
Applicable taxes, shipping, freight, installation, calibration, travel, or other charges may be added when applicable.
Some large equipment purchases, special orders, installations, projects, or configured equipment may require a separate quote, purchase agreement, deposit, or additional payment terms.
Website pricing does not override a separately executed purchase agreement or written quote applicable to the same transaction.
4. Product Selection & Compatibility
Dental equipment, replacement parts, accessories, and supplies may have specific compatibility, installation, configuration, utility, regulatory, or operating requirements.
Customers are responsible for providing accurate information when requesting assistance with product selection.
When compatibility is uncertain, please contact North Star Dental Services before ordering.
North Star Dental Services may provide product-selection guidance based on the information available to us, but customers remain responsible for ensuring that products are appropriate for their intended use unless otherwise specifically agreed in writing.
If you believe you have received an incorrect or incompatible part, do not install or use it. Contact us first.
5. Installation, Calibration & Other Services
Unless specifically stated on the product page, quote, purchase agreement, or order documentation, the purchase price of a product does not automatically include:
- Installation
- Calibration
- Programming or configuration
- Travel or trip charges
- Removal or disposal of existing equipment
- Plumbing
- Electrical work
- Construction or cabinetry modifications
- Permits, inspections, or regulatory fees
- Other professional services
Installation scheduling may be available for many products within our service area. Contact North Star Dental Services for details.
Certain equipment should be installed, serviced, calibrated, or inspected only by appropriately qualified personnel.
6. Shipping & Delivery
Shipping and delivery are governed by our Shipping & Returns Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms & Conditions.
Shipping and delivery dates are estimates unless expressly guaranteed in writing.
Some products may ship directly from a manufacturer or distributor. Large equipment may require freight delivery or additional coordination.
Shipping damage must be reported to North Star Dental Services within 48 hours of delivery. Please retain the product, packaging, shipping materials, and shipping label while the issue is being reviewed.
7. Returns & Cancellations
Eligible new, unopened products may generally be returned within 30 days of delivery, subject to our Shipping & Returns Policy and applicable manufacturer or distributor requirements.
Special-order, configured, installed, opened, hygiene-sensitive, consumable, electrical, or drop-shipped products may have additional return restrictions.
Restocking fees may apply depending on the product and applicable manufacturer or distributor requirements.
Most pre-owned and refurbished equipment is considered final sale. Returns may be considered by North Star Dental Services on a case-by-case basis.

8. Pre-Owned & Refurbished Equipment
Pre-owned and refurbished equipment is sold according to the condition described on the individual product page.
Pre-owned equipment may show cosmetic wear, scratches, discoloration, staining, fading, or other evidence of previous use. Cosmetic imperfections consistent with the product description do not constitute a product defect.
“Refurbished” indicates that North Star Dental Services has performed the refurbishment, inspection, testing, repair, replacement, or other work specifically described in the individual listing. It should not be interpreted to mean that every component has been replaced or restored to factory-new condition unless explicitly stated.
Any North Star Dental Services warranty offered with a pre-owned or refurbished product will be stated on that product's listing.
9. Warranties
New products are subject to the applicable manufacturer's warranty.
When specific manufacturer warranty terms have been verified, North Star Dental Services may provide that information on the product page. Manufacturer warranties remain subject to the manufacturer's actual warranty terms, limitations, exclusions, eligibility requirements, and procedures.
Unless otherwise stated, North Star Dental Services does not independently extend or modify a manufacturer's warranty.
Certain pre-owned or refurbished products may include a limited North Star Dental Services warranty. The duration and coverage of any such warranty will be stated on the individual product listing.
Normal wear, cosmetic condition, consumable components, misuse, improper installation, unauthorized modification, or damage caused by circumstances outside the stated warranty may not be covered.
10. Professional & Regulatory Requirements
Some dental equipment may be subject to federal, state, or local laws, licensing requirements, registration, inspections, permits, installation standards, radiation-control requirements, or other regulations.
The purchaser is responsible for complying with requirements applicable to their location and use of the equipment unless North Star Dental Services has specifically agreed to perform or coordinate a particular compliance service.
Products intended for professional dental or healthcare use should be used only for their intended purpose and in accordance with manufacturer instructions.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, North Star Dental Services shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages arising from or relating to products purchased through this website, including loss of revenue, loss of profits, loss of business, loss of use, or business interruption.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, North Star Dental Services' aggregate liability arising from or relating to a product purchased through the online store shall not exceed the amount paid to North Star Dental Services for the product giving rise to the claim.
These limitations do not apply to liability that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded.
Minnesota's UCC permits contractual limitation or exclusion of consequential damages unless unconscionable and specifically distinguishes commercial losses from personal injury involving consumer goods.
12. Disclaimer of Implied Warranties
EXCEPT FOR ANY EXPRESS WARRANTY SPECIFICALLY PROVIDED IN WRITING BY NORTH STAR DENTAL SERVICES AND ANY APPLICABLE MANUFACTURER WARRANTY, TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, NORTH STAR DENTAL SERVICES DISCLAIMS ALL IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING THE IMPLIED WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY AND THE IMPLIED WARRANTY OF FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE.
THERE ARE NO WARRANTIES THAT EXTEND BEYOND THE EXPRESS WARRANTIES, IF ANY, STATED IN WRITING FOR THE APPLICABLE PRODUCT.
Some laws may not permit the exclusion or limitation of certain implied warranties. Where an implied warranty cannot lawfully be excluded, these Terms do not exclude it.
Keep those first two paragraphs bold and prominent on the BigCommerce page. Minnesota law requires written merchantability and fitness disclaimers to meet conspicuousness requirements, so I don't want those paragraphs visually buried in ordinary body copy.
13. Website Content & Intellectual Property
Unless otherwise indicated, original North Star Dental Services website content—including original photographs, written product descriptions, buying guides, graphics, educational materials, branding, and other original content—is owned by North Star Dental Services or used with permission.
Manufacturer names, trademarks, product images, specifications, and other manufacturer materials remain the property of their respective owners.
North Star Dental Services original content may not be copied, reproduced, republished, distributed, commercially exploited, or used to create competing commercial materials without prior written permission.
Product information may be used by customers as reasonably necessary to evaluate, purchase, install, or use products purchased from North Star Dental Services.
14. Website Availability
North Star Dental Services works to keep our website accurate and available but does not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access.
We may modify, suspend, discontinue, or update portions of the website, product catalog, pricing, features, or content at any time.
15. Privacy
Use of personal information collected through this website is governed by the North Star Dental Services Privacy Policy.
Payment information may be processed by third-party payment processors and is subject to their applicable security and privacy practices.
16. Governing Law & Venue
These Terms & Conditions and any dispute arising from or relating to purchases made through this website shall be governed by the laws of the State of Minnesota, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, any legal action arising from or relating to these Terms or a purchase made through this website shall be brought in the state or federal courts having jurisdiction in Minnesota, and the parties consent to the jurisdiction of those courts.
17. Electronic Transactions
Transactions conducted through this website may be completed electronically.
By electronically accepting these Terms & Conditions, submitting an order, or otherwise completing an online transaction in a manner indicating acceptance, you agree that electronic records and electronic actions may be used in connection with your transaction.
Minnesota law recognizes electronic records, signatures, and contracts and provides that contracts cannot be denied legal effect solely because an electronic record was used in their formation.

North Star Dental Services may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time.
Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. The Terms in effect at the time an order is placed will generally govern that transaction unless otherwise required by law or agreed in writing.
