Belmont Clesta vs. Bel-Nova vs. Bel-Halo: Which Dental Light Should You Choose?
If you're choosing a Belmont dental light, the Clesta LED, Bel-Nova, and Bel-Halo all provide quality LED illumination, touchless activation, stepless brightness control, composite-safe mode, and 3-axis positioning.
So which one should you choose?
The answer comes down to how much light you need, the features your clinical team values, and your budget.
Clesta LED: Practical and Dependable
The Clesta LED is the straightforward choice for practices that want a dependable Belmont light without paying for features they may not need.
Its five-LED array provides up to 28,000 lux, along with a rectangular light pattern, touchless controls, and composite-safe mode.
We'd consider the Clesta when: you want a quality operatory light, value matters, and you don't need the additional features of the Nova or Halo.
Bel-Nova: A Step Up in Light and Cleanability
The Bel-Nova increases output to 34,000 lux using a six-LED array and produces an oval light pattern.
One feature we particularly like is the detachable light cover, which makes routine cleaning easier. An optional rotating patient mirror is also available.
We'd consider the Nova when: you want increased light output and particularly value easier cleaning and infection-control-friendly design.
Bel-Halo: Maximum Light and More Clinical Features
The Bel-Halo is the most feature-rich of the three, with a ten-LED array and output up to 39,000 lux.
It adds a blinking composite-safe mode indicator ring and offers an optional rotating patient mirror. Its rectangular illumination pattern is designed to provide strong, uniform visibility throughout treatment.
We'd consider the Halo when: you want the highest light output and value the additional clinical features enough to justify stepping up.
Which Belmont Dental Light Would We Choose?
There isn't one answer for every operatory.
The Clesta is a strong practical choice. The Nova gives you more illumination and easier cleaning. The Halo offers the highest output and the most features.
And that's really the point: the most expensive light isn't automatically the right light.
North Star Dental Services can help you choose the model and mounting configuration that makes sense for your operatory, budget, and clinical workflow.
